Finally took time to make a few changes and update the blog.
Again, its TIME!
Time for the team to identify the mistakes each of us made and highlight to everyone so that we can all change for the better. For that I need all of you to leave your comments and read all the mistakes posted. Thanks.

heyheys all,
here's what i think of the 3-0 match...
at the back, keeper made some insane saves from feet in the first half...
zhiyuan proved that he can play like at almost every position. keane gets injured really often,
lb/rb didn't have much chance to bomb down the wings coz wingers didn't exactly hold up ball for them or open space.
midfield, i was a headless chicken,
and in the first half, center mids didnt' really know how to play the position, yihui tries to beat his man by running straight too often, left wing didn't like holding onto the ball, and shi was god, even tho he didn't have too much help from the other 2 center mids...
yuzheng was damn energetic...
can't really remember alot coz by then i had really little oxygen in my head already... and i kinda remember nothing in the second half...
but all in all, still an alrigt performance, really enjoy playing with u guys... but lets play in positions we're all familiar with :>
hiz all, darren aka torn lips.. LOL.
frankly speaking, opponent isnt hard for us, and i shld say a fair team only. so 3-0 lost is quite bad for us.. but looking on the other hands, after dunno how many donkey mths we din played, is quite a fair 1, instead..
keeper was gd nth bad to comment as he's bravery is more or less dere and dare to command. hope he can play wif us thou are team abit 'cui' @ tis moment..
defense is more stable this time rnd i shld say. having zhiyuan commanding the D-line. center-back muz rly communicate wif the defense alot and make wise moves. during the game i notice the centre is quite open. overall defense is considerably gd tis time.
midfield, 1st half was a disaster as MC r more or less redundant (tt includes me of cos). is lyk dere = nt dere. lol but sry.. totally the wingers are bringin the motions in the mid body. 1 more thing wingers muz talk well wif its own sideback, rly depend alot on 1 another and is SHAG too...
attack, can't rly comment tt much as we were nt offensive enuff nt to say about putting the ball to the strikers.
2nd half was more or less much betta compared to 1st, thou we conceded 2 goals.
what i wish to say is tt, Mel is right in wad he says after 1st half. we shld bring the ball down comfortably, hold it, look up and pass wad u dim is right. is lyk y shld we be afraid of the ball & the defenders?? is more lyk the defenders shld be afraid of us... cos we r attacking.. and so wad if lose the ball, jus dun give up and get the ball back for another offensive play. but oso dun hold ball till the sun goes down lar.. lyk i say play wad u dim is right and play wisely. summarize all, is call composure. ya same old word i always use but i think is v true. admit my composure sux but still wrking hard to on it.
in all, is nt too bad.. wad can i say, we're nt professionals. so dun expect too much from oneself. as long enjoy the game and enjoy the team mates ur playin wif, all will set in eventually. cheers to our next VICTORY!!!
last but nt least, take care while playing. rly.. SHIT do happens!!!
My turn.
3-0 result.
i would say its a fair result to us, counting the amount of possession we had.
we all played hard, but we lacked composure.
Zhikai: Made several heart-stopping saves, but misjudged the corner tt led to the goal. Overall good performance, can improve on kicking.
Chewyi: Good effort from the small fullback, but was often outmuscled.
Zhiyuan: Commanding Defender, first choice to be considered for back 4, can be more agressive.
Keane: Full of energy, determined but injury prone.
Louis: Tough tackling wingback, but too eager to run with the ball, needs more practice with throw ins.
Yihui: Eager to use his pace and space, but badly outmuscled, can move roam back more to help defending.
Zhikang: Almost scored a header, could have done better with that attempt. Presence not quite felt.
Gerald: Full of energy, attacking every ball, almost the 5th defender, sits nicely with the defence. Faded into 2nd half after a hardworking performance. Could be better utilised in the back 4.
Shengjie: Confident in holding/running with ball, experienced but took too long to pass to running players.
Shi: Several shots at goal with one forcing a good save from keeper, confident of holding on to balls, could have been better when played in midfield wings.
Yuzheng: Only one chance at goal straight from kickoff, strayed off position too much, pushed back too deep instead.
Melvin Tai: Confident midfield player, can do better when he gets to know the team better.
Shem: More physical but was also outmuscled, could have released passes faster.
Guys, this is what i felt about each other, good and bad points that we can work on. No offence for remarks made if you think i'm wrong.
I personally feel we can communicate better as we play more, and our match fitness will improve as well.
BUT we must learn to be more vocal,
when opponents' breathing on a teammate's neck, shout things like 'MAN ON' or provide support to him!
AND personal fitness is all up to you guys, I doubt we will want to meet up just to run, ppl like Yihui goes for personal training just to keep his fitness.
KEEP IT UP!
Someone in the midfield must step up to dictate play, passing and spreading the ball.
We MUST all learn to use our body to shield the ball from opponents to prevent losing the ball.
We MUST also have the composure to beat the nearest opponent when attacking and make a good pass.
Wingers and fullbacks MUST be able to execute a good throw in, and when attacking, there's NO OFFSIDE FOR A THROW IN. SO MAKE USE OF UR SPACE!
Finally,
DETERMINATION AND TEAM SPIRIT.
When you lose the ball, you chase.
If you dont, your fellow teammate has to do so to make up for your error.
I'm guilty of making some of these mistakes too, but we must learn as a team and move on.
I would say I'm proud of us completing that game, since everyone was so stretched and yet still gave more than a 100%.
Thanks guys
I hope we all look forward to the another match with you guys. =)
yup i think 3-0 is quite an okay result. We are obviously not at the same standard as them so 3-0 would be a reasonable scoreline.
First half: I tot the whole team defended well in the first half when everyone was still fit. I would say that the defenders only had few easy touches and clearances on the ball and we(the defence) was pretty much at ease even though the whole team was on the backfoot for majority of the half. Even zhikai commented that his first goalkick was pretty late into the first half. Besides hitting the post, opponents hadnt any other shots on target (besides the goal). Tho there were 1 or 2 one on ones, but they werent exactly threatening esp when zhikai made e saves look routine enough. I tot the midfield did an excellent job in making this possible. All in all i would say that the GK was well protected thruout.
Attacking wise didnt see much action(and esp when i cant really see the front). YZ was more on his defensive side but it was good. His physical presence in mf is very much desired due to the relative sizes of all other players. Shi's thru ball in the first min to YZ nearly put us thru and i vaguely remember a shot coming from the right that forced a save from opposing keeper. think it was from shi. That was all i cud recall for the attacks. Not too bad since the tactic and formation was to defend and it did work out. Conceding thru a setpiece was unlucky for us in my opinion.
2nd half was almost disaster-like. Not to blame anyone, but fitness levels took us apart. i agree with shi that the centre was largely open, even for defence. At times i was to be faulted for bad positioning and the spaces was often exploited by the opponent. Surprisingly we had more chances than the first half, notably zhikang's header that went just wide as well as shi's chance if he had gained control of yz's cross. Tot we cud have a penalty on several occasions due to handballs but it never came.
2nd goal was due to inability to stop that guy from barging his way thru. he cut 3-4 of us b4 sending a low cross to e far end. Shudnt have allowed him to turned in the first place at the corner there esp when it was 2 or 3 on one there. I was at fault as well as he cut me after that.
3rd goal was a bit of a team fault. they played for quite a considerable amt of time juz outside our penalty box. the defence was overloaded with attackers and there was nth much we cud do. Sent a shot in finally where zhikai cud have punched it instead of attempting to catch it.. not to blame him tho as it was a little more of reaction as he needed to get down fast.
yea tts abt the game.
I noticed qt a few grave mistakes.. Our best headers in gerald and keane missed long punts from their goalkeeper. (i would probably miss them too). As in those high and long balls, its hard to head and we are weak in them. At e moment i think only YZ can confidently have clean contact with such high balls. Its extremely dangerous once the ball is allowed to bounce.. Bounce is bad.
It may seem weird to u but my MOTM goes to chewyi. Not one time did he allow the winger to get pass him(pls exclude the 2nd goal). every header was well met and clearances was good. A consistent, simple and effective performance from him tho he had to deal with relatively larger sized wingers. well done!
Gerald was ever running even tho i felt he was damn shag already. work rate 20!
Very well played but got to watch ur positioning at times as u tend to attack e ball till u are quite out of position.
I had an excellent first half with keane till he went off due to his new boots! Felt good partnering him in defence.
Melvin was effective when he came on as he was one of the few who cud hold on to the ball and play.
I tot shi did well despite having little or no support most of the time. Our key source of attack and he was the only one whom you felt the goal will come from.
haha YZ i still think u must play MF la. Your size is so impt in winning all those balls. I saw all the defensive side of u tt day but it was good! so don play striker lah.
haha above all are just my own opinions. pls don take any offence shud u not agree........
till e nxt time.
To be honest I thought a fairer score would be 3-1 to our opponents for the chances that we created are comparable to our opponents'.
This itself is a major bonus, I recount past games where our half chances rarely exceeds 5 a game. So guys dun be so hard on yourself give some credit to yourselves too.
Yu Zheng is right in saying that we should exploit the throw ins we have as there is no offside.Just would like to comment that this is double edged. Just be careful of any quick throw ins or free kick opponents might take.
And paiseh guys :p Havent got used to my new boots and hence the blisters. Actually planned to return to action immediately after taping it but dunno who to sub lol so I waited.
hearing the team lost but to produce a warrior liked performance, all is not lost and all should take credit for this game.
i believe the mistakes are basically the same and teams are successful if the players play for one another.
What I would suggest is shouting "man on" when ur team mates donno they are being closed down as this is very important aspect as of football which every football team adopted.
Secondly is when u call for ball, get into good positions when u call for ball. don just call for ball if u are un marked, move close to the player with the ball, giving him options. don expect any xabi alonso or gerrard type of balls because we arent in that league yet so please provide options adequately. Dont call for the ball when the ball is on the left and you are on the extreme right, it will be ridiculous.
Hahaha, just some advices and i know you guys are more than capable to master another lion performance :)
wah kao! sure a not i man of the match...
i was small sized n running ard like a rat...
against the big sized no.39 "fat" cat...
all i really did was juz toughen up and put on an act...
pushed ard and to the ground was wat i get...
MOTM is really too big of a hat...
good match i felt despite the loss...
we did well against all costs...
and pay we did with injuries and a 3-0 loss...
darren's lip though, was the greatest remorse...
the match left us panting like a dying horse...
but at least we know that in our first game after a long long pause...
it's a pretty good effort with yuzheng as the boss...
right now we must find the problem, it's root, it's source...
like how to throw-in and how the ball is to be tossed..
then when we return to how it was...
vast improvement and victory will be yours...
so til the next game where we shall meet,
cheers, relax and AD-I-OS..
