erm... nothing much to add.. it was a pretty disastrous 2nd half.. we juz gave up after the 2nd or 3rd goal.. nobody wanted to defend towards the last 10 mins.. everyone, except maybe 2-3 defenders, wanted to score at least a consolation goal but it only resulted in getting the score line even much more one-sided... i think i will juz rate some and comment on others.. but these are largely based on my own thoughts.. no offense to anyone..
GK: 2/10
so sorry to rate him so lowly but seriously he was horrendous.. i thought ben tay might be more professional.. at least he had boots gloves n came prepared.. out of the 3-4 goals we let in thru corners, the keeper was always missing in action, way off the goal line even b4 the kick was taken, resulting in an "open" goal most of the time.. goal kicks were bad.. everything else = below par...
right back: 8/10
one of the two most consistent performers of the match.. damn steady la.. nothing much to say.. one thing to add.. dun keep calling me shem.. hahaha...
center backs: 7/10
the 2 new guys were pretty good at the back.. unfortunate to let in so many goals though mostly not their fault, not counting the own goal... the hazreen was pretty good but his approach was way opposite to wat i'm used to as he wants me to commit a tackle on the opponent's attking winger while i prefer to pressure and wait for the right opportunity while the winger in front of me tackle him first.. so this kind of resulted in some confusion.. overall he was good and in my opinion, he was the other consistent player besides zhiyuan..
as for myself.. i think i played nervously at left back as i nv played there before.. but i'm juz glad that in my time there during the first half.. it was still goalless.. when i came back on in the 2nd half.. it was like 3 or 4-0 liao so everything else is redundant.. i felt i had a average performance but u might disagree n feel i was horrible..
everyone else was juz brief observation for me as i mainly observed the defence n the keeper.. i didn't really notice nelson helping me out in defence which left me exposed alone sometimes.. in fact.. the center mids were leaving large holes in the center on many occasions which were exploited by the opposing team.. louis should really stay to ur position.. u may play on the left but end up left right center up behind everywhere.. really a hindrance to other teammates who are confused with where u play... melvin missed a glorious chance to score a consolation but given the score line, it wouldn't have mattered...
towards the end, with almost everyone trying to score the consolation goal, no one was really defending.. at one point i only see myself, zhiyuan n another guy defending against the opposing attacking force of 4-5 players who are trying to get on the score sheet for more humiliation..
all in all, i think it's frustrating that we let in so many goals.. but wat's worse is that, after dunno how many matches, we still haven't scored a goal, or test the keeper with a stinging shot or anything.. defense may be bad, but if defense, offense & midfield all not gd, how to win...?
juz sharing my thoughts...
OK, i don't like to flame anyone or anything. But when i came in, it was already 4-0
the tactics of playing with wingers hugging the bylines, centermids who are , from my point of view, more that 6 meters away from their attacking midfielders and non existent attacks are obviously not working. So instead of pointing out individual performances. i suggest the team gets down more to playing with each other and finding their feet playing to a formation. And i'm quite sorry chew, i don't quite remember who you are... so i can't quite comment on your performance. If u played any better, maybe i'd remember your name....
all apologies for my style tho.. will take note
I think it is important to remember that this team which we fielded today is filled with players not from the team and us being in different positions (eg, me in left mid in the 2nd half) Hence there will definitely be problems within the team due to lack of chemistry or lack of familiarity in the position we are playing.
So guys, look at the positives, like how we could contain them in the first half (though there was once or twice when we got lucky) but the team fought hard.
indeed... football is a team game.. no use rating individuals.
if we lose by a trashing, its the entire team's fault. If we win, credit goes to the whole team..
lets all try to play better and start some kinda momentum
sorry for the rating then.. i wasn't putting the blame on any one individual.. and sorry if u can't rmb me louis, guess i'm really that un-noticeable.. i was juz stating how i felt.. i made numerous mistakes as well and i'm might be at fault for one or two goals.. juz wanna add that i'm not pin pointing anyone.. was reading the newpaper where they rated the man u vs chelsea players and i tot i would do the same..
hmm i was one of those that was desperate to score a consolation goal.So u could say that yes..the middle was pretty empty towards the end...sry about that.At that point no one had the heart to play on.Also, yesterday's team is really good and i mean it.
But i agree we lose/win as a team.We should really slow down the tempo.u know..like how we play in street soccer.Ok maybe its 2 different things but i feel even in a SS court,i have more space then the field!!Why is this so!
I think most of us(including me) need the space.Ignore this if u think its nonsense.
And this is chapalang fc.Not manchester united. We play with different ppl every week.So naturally its hard to click, but bobian we need the players.Let next week be a new start.Change the team name to something more creative and lets start ENJOYING playing soccer and be not always think of winning only. And honestly, i love coming on when the team is losing.Bcos thats when the pressure is off and we can really do our stuff.I think we must play well, then the wins will come naturally. No point playing like shit and feeling good with a win.I think when u play well regularly, the wins will come naturally.
Sorry for my bluntness.Didnt want to post actually..but was encouraged by someone to do so..
i wasn't there for the match la. but ah, i think ah, sometimes ah, reserve players only get subbed in under 2 situations. 1) team is winning 4-0 and players fucking up won't make much of a difference. 2) team is losing 4-0 and players fucking up won't make much of a difference.
